Funny! After reading this post about "Hui Clos", savvy Sartre's existentialist drama from France, and "Hui Clos" really means something like "closed door" and it's a French legal term of their legal system of juries and judges, I had to laugh and wonder how JPS's famous line "Hell is other people" morphed into the "at breakfast" add-on, way back in 2003 and is still going strong. A quick google check showed three examples here below:

It's from Simone de Beauvoir, who yelled "AT BREAKFAST!" after his "L'enfer, c'est les autres," when he wouldn't shut the fuck up during her morning coffee.
