Impressive indeed! Too bad the original ballet that this piece was written for has been lost to time, that would've been merveillieux! Remarkably, much of Ravel's pattern in this has been attributed to his brain injury following a motorcycle accident. Similar injuries have happened to painters who have made astounding leaps of creativity.
