Tonight I had to do the Corporate Schmooze at a restaurant overlooking City Hall. During the summer I had been a judge for some book products and tonight was the awards banquet. One of the pieces I had critiqued was a book and iPad combo. The book didn't impress me (it was heavily templated and linear,) but the iPad product was the work of utter genius. During the judging process I marveled at the elegance of the product, yet I was saddened because it seemed that no one else really understood the importance of using the iPad as the best delivery system possible for that particular content. Tonight I met and had dinner with the author. I didn't realize it at the time, but only after dinner, during his lecture on eTexts did I come to understand who he was. The author was this guy:
